Our patented Adjustable Bungee Cords secure your Weaponholder to trees, poles, packs, tree stands and almost anything you can wrap around. A great option in the field to help prevent damage to expensive optics and other components, Adjustable Bungees are capable of being tightened to just a few inches and safely stretched to one and a half times their length.
Adjustable Bungees connect to the Weaponholder‘s elliptical shaped Bungee Holes on the Connecting Stem. Weighing less than an ounce Adjustable Bungees are light weight and small enough to carry anywhere. Stocking your Accessory Kit with Adjustable Bungees is a smart idea! Use the Length Chart to select the cord that best suits your needs.
| Bungee Length | Safe Stretch Length | Safe Wrapping Diameter | Cord Weight |
| 18' | 27" | 8.50" | 20 g / 0.7 oz |
| 24" | 36" | 12.00" | 20.8 g / 0.73 oz |
| 36" | 54" | 17.00” | 26 g / 0.91 oz |
To eliminate slack, traditional bungee cords need to be wrapped around objects until they are tight. Our Adjustable Bungees can be loosened or tightened, before and during use by simply feeding slack through the hook and pulling the cord. Cord Stops prevent the cord from falling out of the hooks and Tail Hooks keep excess cord from interfering with your weapon when the cord is in use.
Warning: Bungee Cords should Never be stretched beyond one and a half times their unstretched length. Use the chart above to determine the cord size that best suits your needs. Remember, cords can be shortened to fit smaller diameters, but they cannot be lengthened.
EXAMPLE: A 24” cord should only be stretched an additional 12” to a total Maximum Length of 36” and can safely be wrapped around an object (tree or pole) with a 11.5” diameter.
Stretching beyond these lengths is Dangerous and could result in injury. Always wear eye protection when using bungee cords.
How do I adjust the length of the bungee cord?
The hooks on the cord have two holes. To shorten the cord, feed the cord through the bottom hole (the hole furthest from the hook). This will create a loop of excess cord on the hook. Hold the hook and pull the tail of the cord to get rid of the excess cord. The cord should now be shorter and the tail longer.
To lengthen the cord, feed cord from the tail through the loop of cord on the hook. Hold the hook and pull on the cord to make it longer.
How do I attach the bungee to the Weaponholder?
First, test the circumference of the object you want to secure the Weaponholder to by wrapping the bungee around it. This will let you know if you need to adjust the length of the cord. Next, adjust the cord length if necessary and retest.
The Weaponholder has two elliptical holes in the connecting stem (between the upper and lower platforms). Place one hook in one of the holes. Next while holding the hooked weaponholder in place, wrap the other end of the cord around the object you are securing to and hook the cord into the empty hole. The Weaponholder should now be secure. If necessary, make final adjustments to the length of the bungee to make sure the Weaponholder is firmly secured before securing your weapon.
How do I unhook the bungee from a secured Weaponholder?
Hold the Weaponholder with one hand while disconnecting one end of the bungee with the other. Caution: Hold the end of the cord you are releasing tightly and control the cord while disconnecting it. Continue to hold the cord as you release the tension. Keep your face and body out of the recoil path.
How far can I stretch the bungee cord?
We recommend not stretching cords beyond 50% of their unstretched length. Example: an 18” cord shouldn’t be stretched beyond 27”.
Can I use the Weaponholder bungee to secure other objects?
No. The hooks on the weaponholder bungees were specially developed for use with the Weaponholder. Using them on other items may not be safe. It depends on the types of environments you will be using it in and the surfaces you will be mounting to. Key Slot screws and Locking Strips can be installed in several locations and left in place for quick removal and remounting when you return. In the field, the use of Locking Strips and Key Slots isn’t always an option. In such cases, the Adjustable Bungee Cord and Releasable Cable/Zip Ties are quick, efficient and easy methods of mounting. In short, different mounting methods may be better than others depending on location, environment and conditions.
Do Bungee Cords wear out?
Yes, they can. Inspect each cord for cracks or other damage before every use. Do Not use the cord if there are signs of cracks or damage.
Do I need to wear eye protection?
Yes. Always wear eye protection when stretching, fastening, or releasing hooks.
What are Tail Hooks?
Tail hooks are small plastic clips we attach to the cord tail and main body of the cord. This prevents the tail from interfering with your weapon when the cord is in use. This is especially true when the cord is shortened.
Are Tail Hooks replaceable?
Yes. They are an inexpensive part, and we recommend keeping a spare in your Accessory Kit.
Tip: Always wear eye protection when connecting, adjusting, or disconnecting a bungee cord.
