The QR Tactical Strap is a two-piece overlapping system developed at the request of operators that wanted to secure their weapons, but also needed immediate access to them. Each piece has a hand sewn built in D Ring that secures it to separate strap slots on opposite sides of the Weaponholder. The QR Strap has an elongated tab comprised of two layers of sonically welded Velcro. A quick pull on the tab releases your weapon immediately. It can be used on both the Weaponholder and the Butt Plate and can be strung to accommodate your dominant hand, with the tab on either the right or left. When secured, the QR Strap supplies an extra 80 lbs. holding strength.
When the System is properly secured, you can have instant access to your weapon by pulling the barrel forward and lifting. Pulling the barrel forward raises the heel of the Butt Stock and allows the Toe to be lifted out without the need to release the strap on the Butt Plate
Bottom line, Mission Accomplished, this is the strap of choice. If you’re going to upgrade any feature on your Weaponholder, we strongly recommend it be the QR Strap.

Why would I want/need to use a QR Tactical Strap?
In situations where you need to secure your weapon, but also need immediate access to it, QR Tactical Straps fill the requirement. One pull releases your weapon.
What is the difference between a one piece-strap and the QR Tactical Strap?
Standard straps are one-piece units designed to use both strap slots to secure your weapon. This method provides superior holding strength but can take an extra couple of seconds to open and close. The QR Tactical Strap is a two-piece overlapping system. Each piece has a hand sewn built in D Ring that secures it to separate strap slots on opposite sides of the Weaponholder. The QR Tactical Strap has an elongated tab comprised of two layers of sonically welded Velcro. A quick pull on the tab releases your weapon immediately.
Does the Quick Release Strap Tactical Strap provide enough holding strength?
Yes, both designs provide great protection. One-piece straps are threaded through both Strap Slots which allows the strength of the Weaponholder to become part of the holding force. Quick Release Straps are also anchored to the strap slots but rely a little more on the bond between the hook and loop. In addition to the holding force provided by the strap slots, the Velcro provides approximately an additional 8 lbs. per square inch of engaged hook to loop. The bottom line is QR Straps definitely provide enough holding strength.
How do I decide which one to use?
If the speed of retrieving your weapon is more important than holding force, use the QR Tactical Strap. If retrieval speed is not a concern, use a standard strap. We believe the QR Strap is superior and strongly recommend it.
Does having the Quick Release Tab on a side opposite my dominant hand slow the retrieval of my weapon?
No. The QR Strap’s design allows you to decide which side you want the QR Tab on. Once you decide, left or right, mount the bottom part of the strap through the strap slot on side you want the QR Tab to be on. Then mount the top part of the strap with the QR Tab on the opposite side of the Weaponholder.
Will I ever need to replace the strap?
Yes, depending on the number of open/close cycles your strap is subjected to, hook and loop will lose its strength over time. If you notice your strap’s peel strength is starting to weaken, we suggest you replace it to maintain maximum protection of your weapons. This is normal for all hook and loop products
Can I clean my Velcro strap?
Over time, the hook surface can pick up lint and other debris that can affect its ability to grip the loop surface. Cleaning debris out of the hooks is like cleaning a hairbrush: using a stiff brush or another piece of hook are the best methods. If this does not work, replace the strap.
Tip: To help keep your strap clean, engage the hook and loop sections when not in use. This will help keep it clean and extend the life of your strap.
