1.25” x 2.6” Locking Strip is a replacement part for the factory installed Locking Strip on the underside of the lower platform of your Weaponholder. On average locking strips have a life cycle of 1000 engagements. Repeated use will cause your Locking Strip to wear. Should I ever replace the Locking Strip on the Weaponholder?
Yes. On average locking strips have a life cycle of 1000 engagements. Repeated use will cause your Locking Strip to wear. If you notice visible damage or a reduction in holding strength, replace the Locking Strip on your Weaponholder This is a quick and easy step to ensure your system maintains its peak performance.
Do I need to use a Prep Wipe before applying the Locking Strip.
Yes. When replacing Locking Strip on the Weaponholder, remove any adhesive residue left by the previous Strip. A clean surface is necessary for proper installation of a new Locking Strip.
Do I need to use a Primer Stick.
Yes. If you plan to use your system within 72 hours you should use a Primer Stick. Using a Primer Stick will allow the adhesive on the Locking Strip to achieve its maximum cure strength in few hours versus 72 hours without the Primer. Use of the Weaponholder before the adhesive has cured will most likely result in a weaker mount and may cause the Locking Strip to come off.
How do I clean my Locking Strip?
The two easiest and most effective methods are blowing compressed air or soapy water. This should help to loosen and remove dirt and debris. Be careful when cleaning your Locking Strip not to damage the stems. In the event you are unable to remove materials that are causing problems, remove and replace the Locking Strip.
